1. Goals and Objectives
The main goal of the Festival is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle amongst different social layers of the population and supporting it by stimulating the interest for active and leisure sports in and outside Russia.

1.1. Sustenance of physical and psychological health of the participating athletes.
1.2. Promotion of Elbrus Region - Prielbrusye.
1.3. Support of mass sports in the mountainous areas of the Russian Caucasus.
1.4. Attraction of the attention of mass media to health and active lifestyle.
1.5. Further development and promotion of mountaineering, skyrunning, ski mountaineering in and outside Russia.
1.6. Rise of sports skill and sports qualification amongst the participants.
1.7. Exchange of experiences among the international community of athletes.
1.8. Discovering the strongest athletes, selection of athletes for the Russian National Skyrunning Team and Russian National Ski Mountaineering Team.
1.9. Further elaboration of the Festival for its annual carrying out as an international competition.

2. Dates and Event Venue
Event dates: May 2th - 8th, 2024. Event location: Mt. Elbrus (5642 m), a dormant volcano. The highest peak of Russia and Europe, located 12 km to the North of the Main Caucasian Ridge. It provides an original and unique stage for this event as the slopes at above 3000 m are covered with glaciers and the typical cone-shaped volcanic terrain makes it ideal for an extreme race event.

3. Organization Committee
3.1. All competitions are held according to the «Unified Calendar for Russian inter-regional and international sport events 2024» of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
3.2. Overall management and supervision of the event is held by the Organization Committee of the Festival. Immediate governance is entrusted to the Race Director.
3.3. The Organization Committee of the Festival is appointed by the Russian Mountaineering Federation and Red Fox Company.

The Organization Сommittee of the Festival consists, upon mutual agreement, of authorized representatives from the following third party institutions: Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation; Government of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria; Committee of Sports of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria; the Municipal Elbrus District Council; the Race Director and representatives of other interested parties and organizations.

3.4. The panel of judges, with the Chief Judge as its chairman, is responsible for each individual race category and the respective judging results. The Chief Judge will select the panel of judges upon final agreement with the Organization Committee.

4. Participants and Terms of Participation
The Race is hold in 3 different categories:

1. Ski Mountaineering Race - Individual Race
- International competition in ski mountaineering.
All competitors must have experience in traveling on snow-covered and ice-covered slopes. Any support of any transportation, including help of other people or use of animals, is prohibited.

2. Vertical Kilometer
- VerticalKilometer® - Mt. Elbrus, 2450-3450 m, 4th stage of the Russian Skyrunning Cup.
The race is hold between Azau glade and "Mir" station.
All competitors must have experience in traveling on snow-covered and ice-covered slopes.
Any support of any transportation is prohibited, including skis, help of other people and use of animals.

3. Speed-race to Elbrus Western summit in two different categories:
- «Sport» - SkyMarathon® - Mt. Elbrus, 2350-5642 m, international skyrunning competition, marathon.
Distance of tge race: Azau (2350 m) - "Mir" station (3450 m) - «Barrels» (3780 m) - Patukhov Rocks (4800 m) - Elbrus saddle (5350 m) - Elbrus Western Summit (5642 m).

- «Classic»: - Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus, 3780-5642 m.
Distance of the race: «Barrels» (3780 m) - Patukhov Rocks (4800 m) - Elbrus saddle (5350 m) – Elbrus Western Summit (5642 m).

Participation in the Vertical Kilometer and its completion in the limits of control time, or participation in the ski mountaineering race and its completion in the limits of control time, are obligatory for the participation in the speed race.

Only participants with mountaineering experience on snow and ice are eligible to enter the speed races - SkyMarathon® and Skyrace®.

Winning time in the speed races SkyMarathon® - Mt. Elbrus and the Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus is determined from the start gate to the summit gate. Any support of any transportation is prohibited, including skis, help of other people and use of animals.

The use of doping medications is strictly prohibited. Sports athletes will be disqualified immediately during the race or after the race for breaking this rule!

Each athlete has to reach the age of 18 by the start of the race. All participants must have medical clearance, medical insurance and accident insurance.

Attention! Sports athletes without official medical clearance and insurance cannot take part in any of the competitions!

5. Festival Itinerary and Race Program

16:00-19:00 Registration of participants. Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride.
19:30 Briefing of the Ski Mountaineering Individual Race. Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride.

May, 3th
Ski Mountaineering Individual Race. International competition.
08:00 Ski Mountaineering Individual Race. International competition.

May, 4th
10:00-19:00 Optional registration of participants. Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride.
19:30 Briefing of the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt. Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride.

May, 5th
Vertical Kilometer® - Mt. Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. 4th stage of the Russian Skyrunning Cup.
Participants hand in their personal gear at the bottom station of the "red gondola" for lifting to the «Mir» Station (3450 m).
07:00 - Start of the Vertical Kilometer® - Mt. Elbrus, 2450-3450 m. Azau Glade.
14:00 - Inauguration of the Festival. Awards ceremony for the winners of the Ski Mountaineering Individual Race and Vertical Kilometer® - Mt. Elbrus.

May, 6th
09:00-16:00 - Participants of the Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus and judges ascend to the "Barrels" (Garabashi).
19:00 - Briefing of the speed races to Elbrus Western summit SkyMarathon® - Mt. Elbrus and Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus . For the SkyMarathon® - Mt. Elbrus: Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride. For the Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus: restaurant at check point at 3780 m.

Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus, 3780-5642 m.
06:30 - Start of the SkyMarathon® - Mt. Elbrus, 2350-5642 m from Azau Glade. International Skyrunning Competition.
07:00 - Start of the Skyrace® - Mt. Elbrus, 3780-5642 m from "Barrels".

May, 8th
12:00 - Awards ceremony for the winners. Closing ceremony of the Festival. Azau Glade, Hotel Freeride.

The decision about the start of the SkyMarathon® and the Skyrace® will be carried out at 6:00 a.m. on May, 7th, according to weather conditions.

6. Judging Criteria
Winners are determined by the best time on the routes.

7. Awards/Prizes
Winners are awarded with official race diplomas, prize money and additional prizes from organizers and sponsors.

8. Applications
Preliminary applications are accepted until April, 15th, 2024 with obligatory electronic payment and confirmation on our website.

It is also possible to make an application on-site at the venue. In this case, the organizers cannot guarantee the availability of event packages and other special services, such as food, accommodation, transfer, etc.

9. Participant Waiver and Safety Regulations
All competitions are held according to approved regulations.

Each participant has to be aware of the risks related to climbing Mt. Elbrus, Skyrunning and Ski Mountaineering competitions.

Each participant is responsible for his/her own health and safety. The organizers are responsible for providing first-aid in an emergency situation.

Race organizers examine route and install safety devices (e.g., fix ropes), if necessary.

A participant's appearance at the start gate implies that he/she has sufficient physical health and mountaineering skills for taking part in the competition.

Each participant must take into consideration weather and route conditions by himself/herself.

Each participant's equipment has to meet the safety requirements and race rules.

The Organization Committee reserves the right to cancel competitions or change the competitions schedule according to weather or other conditions.

Sportsmen who have read this regulation are eligible to take part in the competitions!
